ClearWater Conservancy Note Cards

In 2006, local artists were invited to submit works of art based on the theme "Millbrook Marsh through the Eyes of Artists" for a calendar.  Among the collection of photographs, oil paintings, pastels, and mixed media, seventeen local artists’ creations won spots in the calendar.

Eight of those pieces were chosen for a set of note cards.  ClearWater is selling sets of these note cards for $10 to support our on-the-ground land and water conservation projects.  Please call ClearWater at 814-237-0400 or email jennifer@clearwaterconservancy.org for more information or to place an order.

Millbrook Marsh is important to the community as the only sizable example of one of the rarest types of natural communities in the county, a calcareous marsh.  ClearWater protects this important natural site with a conservation easement through its volunteer-led Land Conservation Program, which altogether has protected nearly 3,500 acres within Centre County.

The marsh is not only a protected natural area, but also home to the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center, managed and operated by Centre Region Parks & Recreation. Within Millbrook Marsh, trails and boardwalks offer the public a unique opportunity to explore and observe this wetland ecosystem.

Artists in order of appearance:  Harriet Swanson, Holly Fritchman, Jack Williams, Sharon McCarthy, Jennifer Shuey, Roxanne Nayden, Susan Nicholas Gephart, Stacie Bird.
