Strides for Nature Race Course at Millbrook Marsh Measured by David Eggler on May 24, 2011

START at telephone pole ~80 ft east of the end of the bicycle path along Puddintown Road.

0.41 miles. Intersection of bicycle paths after crossing under 4-lane.

1.00 miles. Bicycle paths branch. Bear right and through the tunnel.

1.28 miles. East end of the Slab Cabin park bridge.  Continue straight on the bicycle path and up a hill.

1.41 miles.  Intersection with Slab Cabin Trail (sign).  Turn right down the trail and cross a bridge. Turn right. Upon reaching the grassy hill, turn left uphill. Circle clockwise around a double tree, then head straight across the slope to a light pole (green sign on your left).  Circle clockwise around the pole and head downhill, keeping the trees/bushes immediately to your left.  Near the bottom of the hill, cut across immediately west of another light pole, then turn to go north of a picnic pavilion. Cross a marshy area on two planks and enter the parking area. Then cross the bridge toward the bicycle path.

1.76 miles. East end of bridge.

2.00 miles. South end of the tunnel on the bicycle path.

2.65 miles. The same path intersection encountered at 0.41 miles.  Retrace the bicycle path toward the start, but pass the start line and continue across the footbridge into the headquarters area.

3.10 miles. FINISH.  The finish line is 35 ft north of two large rocks.

Don't want to walk or run?  Out of town that day?  If you still want to support ClearWater Conservancy you may donate online at Jennifer Shuey's Strides for Nature fundraising page at http://www.active.com/donate/clearwatercons2011/JenShueyIt's really easy to set up your own page too.  Try it, set a goal for yourself, send the link to people you know with a personal note about what ClearWater means to you and the community, and you too can very easily raise some much needed funds for conserving special land and habitat, restoring stream buffers, protecting streams and aquifers, and teaching the next generation about our natural world.

Sponsorships are available!  Download the sponsorship form and support this event.
