Map Book

A series of maps were produced as part of the Vision 2020 planning process. Geographic Information System (GIS) was used to produce maps and analyze data for the various products produced for the project. The Pennsylvania State University’s Environmental Resources Research Institute in cooperation with Community Planning Consultants, Inc. completed the GIS analysis and map production.

The first seven maps are taken from the Probable Future Report and show the existing conditions of the study area including the location of the I-99 corridor. The Probable Future Agriculture and Forested Lands, Probable Future Environmental Features, and Probable Future Natural

Heritage Sites Maps illustrate the impact the primary areas of influence at the I-99 and I-80 interchange areas would have on agriculture and forested lands, environmental features, and natural heritage sites.

The second group of maps shows the results of the preliminary development suitability analysis and the three composite maps that were used to complete the final analysis. This analysis plus a similar analysis completed for critical lands support strategies in the Strategies Handbook. The methodology for analysis is explained.
