Spring Creek Rivers Conservation Plan

The year 2001 marked the culmination of a nearly 10-year process to develop a Rivers Conservation Plan for the Spring Creek Watershed, Centre County, Pennsylvania.  This 175 square mile watershed, which drains to the Susquehanna River and eventually to the Chesapeake Bay, is beautiful.  Silver threads of streams weave through fertile agricultural valleys.  Vibrant communities are set against the backdrop of forested ridges.  But as this sensitive headwaters area continues to urbanize, it faces many challenges.  The Spring Creek Rivers Conservation Plan addresses issues of concern to the watershed and develops recommendations for future conservation actions and partnerships.  Read on to find out more:

The Spring Creek Rivers Conservation Plan was sponsored by the ClearWater Conservancy with a Rivers Conservation Planning Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.  ClearWater received additional support from many generous partners:
