ClearWater Conservancy will hold its annual celebration of Spring Creek Saturday, June 1 at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center. The free, community event starts in the morning with a 5K run and continues through early afternoon with a host of educational events, conservation displays, programs, food and music for all ages. The festival is a rain or shine event.
About 30 Central Pennsylvania agencies, non-profits, outdoors organizations and businesses will join ClearWater as exhibitors and sponsors at this volunteer-run event.
Activities for children typically include a Fun Run, wildlife displays, a sing-along, a scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, an aquatic bug hunt, giant bunnies, ambulance tours, rocks and minerals and a Rubber Duck Race.
Adults enjoy live music by Pure Cane Sugar, Unusual Suspects and Andy Tolins and presentations from area conservation and outdoor groups including fly casting and tying lessons by the Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited, guided tours of the marsh and much, much more.
In addition, the George Harvey Spring Creek Heritage Award, given jointly each year by ClearWater and the Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited, will be awarded during the festival. The award honors an individual who has worked to improve or protect Spring Creek.
Join ClearWater once again for a beautiful run through several parks in the Houserville area, beginning and ending at Millbrook Marsh. Our course will once again be marked and timed by Nittany Valley Running Club.

Spring Creek Family Festival 2011 & 2012
Spring Creek Festival 2008 Video
Although we started off the day with a wet morning, our spirits lifted and families ventured out as the sun made an appearance through most of the afternoon! Altogether nearly 500 people came out to celebrate nature, enjoy each other's company, and learn a little more about the environment. Many thanks to Ray Gephart's video production class at Bellefonte High School for this great video from Spring Creek Day 2008!
