ClearWater Conservancy finalized a conservation easement in partnership with Western Pennsylvania Conservancy (WPC) for 74 forested acres near Altoona in Blair County. The landowner, Shirley Long, who passed away in 2021, generously bequeathed the land to WPC with direction that “the property never be developed and maintain its ‘green condition.’” Her legacy will play a role in the organization’s ongoing conservation efforts for generations and benefit the health of local communities, streams, and wildlife forever.
