About the Event

Join us as we appreciate the nuances of our natural environment, such as the smaller sounds in a forest we notice when we're still and quiet, a distant bird calling, or the small trickle of a spring or creek. Surrounding ourselves with trees has its own inherent benefits. Forest bathing can help us calm and center ourselves and feel a greater sense of inner peace. During this outdoor writing opportunity we'll make a sound map, write a small poem or two, and enjoy the health benefits of being in the midst of one of the few remaining old-growth forests in Pennsylvania, Alan Seeger Natural Area. The area is named after the World War I veteran and poet, so it is fitting that we find ourselves continuing his work in the area named for him.
